What this exam is designed to test

PITA Shariah RFP Module 2 sits within Malaysia's PITA framework for professional insurance and takaful agents. Its content is organised around Islamic risk principles, takaful structures, family and general takaful, investment-linked takaful, ethics, claims and Shariah financial planning. The official structure matters because useful preparation must match the pathway, language and scoring rules that apply to the candidate.

Study every chapter, but not with equal urgency

Start by mapping the full course: Risk Management, Risk Management in Islamic Point of View, Risk and Insurance, Takaful: Shariah-Compliant Issues, and the remaining chapters. Mark each topic as new, familiar or proven. A familiar chapter is not yet proven; only an unseen question set completed without notes provides evidence that you can retrieve and apply it.

Give the first study block to structural ideas that unlock later chapters. For Shariah M2, the biggest avoidable problem is keeping Shariah concepts, participant funds, operator roles and conventional comparisons precisely separated. Build a short comparison table whenever two products, funds, duties or pathways are easy to confuse.

Use a four-stage practice loop

1. Learn: read a focused section and explain it in plain language without copying the text.
2. Retrieve: close the material and answer flashcards or write the definition, purpose and contrast from memory.
3. Apply: complete short scenario questions and justify why each rejected option is wrong.
4. Retest: return after at least one day and use new questions. Improvement that disappears after a delay is not mastery.

Keep an error log with four labels: missing knowledge, confused distinction, misread wording and pacing. The correction depends on the label. Rereading may help missing knowledge; it rarely fixes hurried reading or a recurring comparison error.

A practical three-week plan

Week one: complete the first coverage pass and daily retrieval. Week two: finish the syllabus, begin mixed sets and revisit the weakest four chapters. Week three: alternate full mocks with correction sessions. Never take two full papers back-to-back without analysing the first.

For the final readiness check, complete at least three unseen papers inside 120 minutes. Aim above the 50% official standard so normal variation does not place you on the boundary. For Dual, check both 50-question sections separately every time.

Use pacing rules before exam day

The average time is about 96 seconds per question. First answer the items you can solve cleanly, mark uncertain items and protect a review window. One stubborn question must not consume the time needed for several later marks.

Confirm the current facilitator instructions, identification requirements, permitted language and delivery details before the sitting. Preparation is strongest when administrative uncertainty is removed early.
